Progressive Forum - Seymour Hersh
Event Description:
Author of Chain of Command: The Road from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib
Seymour Hersh, who broke the story of U.S. prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib, will reveal his perspective on how we got from the morning of 9/11 to a divisive war of choice in Iraq. One of the most acclaimed investigative reporters of our time, Seymour Hersh won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking the story of the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War. A writer for The New Yorker, Mr. Hersh has won over a dozen prizes for stories such as Nixon’s secret bombings in Cambodia, Kissinger’s wiretapping of newsmen, and the growth of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. His tales reveal what happens when governments operate unhindered by constitutional checks and balances. He’s published eight books including The Dark Side of Camelot and The Price of Power: Kissinger in the Nixon White House.
