Democratic Party: discussion regarding the Democratic Convention in Ft. Worth held in June; first time in recent history when real contest for party chair

 

Green Party: discussion regarding Green Party convention and petition drive; Don acknowledged fell short (45,000 required; 27,000 acquired); he suggests petition drive requires both paid and volunteer efforts

 

New Treasurer: Brenda Fackler stepping down as co-chair with Rochelle Brackman; by acclamation Don Cook replaces Brenda Fackler as co-chair with Rochelle Brackman

 

Impeachment: Stage a forum on impeachment of Bush/Cheney;

Goal of forum: stand up for principles; invite/convince elected officials; galvanize public support; identify sins; garner press attention to cause; invite republicans to defend

 

Why – Stand up for principles

How – Invite and convince elected officials to participate

Why – galvanixe public support

How – Identify the sins of B&C (including election fraud)

Why – remind everyone that the people do not approve of Bush & Cheney

How  – develop/use database to contact people

Why – Teach us how to impeach – avenues for impeachment

Why – grow PAA

How – video interviews of candidates

 

Mobilize

Invite like-minded groups to co-sponsor

Enlist exposure thru KPFT/Houston Media Source

Get co-sponsorship at UH for reduced fees

Think reactively rather than proactively because “things” so out of whack

Non-violent direct action quickly executed

Ignite spark

Lobby the dems, Ron Paul, etc.

Concentrate on getting dems elected who favor impeachment

Teach-in on impeachment before elections so that voting fraud can also get raised

Global corporate structure

Hold before October and hold more than one event e.g. voting machines, impeachment, health care, impeachment, living wage, impeachment, counter recruitment/awol support

Something on a regular basis; venue where folk can mingle/eat/drink

Establish committee
