Protest Texas' 400th Execution in recent history

Event Description:

The death of Johnny Connor is scheduled for tonight.

If there is no stay, this will be the 400th execution in Texas since resumption of the death penalty in 1982. This milestone in Texas history must be condemned!

5:00-6:15 PM, Houston's Old Hanging Tree, corner of Capitol and Bagby downtown (behind Bayou Place and across from the Hobby Center) - join in the press conference and protest.

(If protest is not your style, there will also be the regular 5:30-6:20 PM vigil at St. Anne's Catholic Community, corner of Shepherd and Westheimer. Parking is available off Westheimer just west of Shepherd. Please participate and bring your friends with you. You may call Burnham Terrell at 713-921-0948 until 5:00 on Tuesday to find out if a stay as been granted.)
