Climate change, peak oil, overpopulation, resource depletion, pollution, deforestation, mass extinction, war...

Where is capitalist/state-controlled civilization taking us, and what effects has social hierarchy had on human beings and other species since it's development late in the game of human existence?

Is the American way of life completely unsustainable?
