Come meet Jim Henley - running against Culberson for CD7

Jim Henley is a Democratic candidate running for CD7 against John Culberson. He's spent most of his career as a high school teacher, has led the debate team to several victories and looks to be a very interesting candidate.

I had an opportunity to speak with him directly - he indicated his #1 issue is to end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home. He is also refusing to take any corporate $ towards his campaign as well. He is also the brother of Susan McDougal.

Overall, I was very impressed with him - if you have a chance to come out to meet him next week - please do so - I've placed this on our events calendar as well. The details are at:

David Murf (not sure if I spelled that correctly) is also running for CD7, so... they will be competing in the upcoming primary - just FYI...

Dear Precinct Chairs in Texas Congressional District 7:

As many of you probably know, more than one Democrat is getting excited about the chance to help the Democratic Party gain more seats within the House of Representatives come November 2006; specifically in the realm of our own seventh congressional district, where John Culberson currently sits.

One of the men hoping to unseat Congressman Culberson is Jim Henley, the debate coach at Lanier Middle School who has led three straight teams to national championships.

On his behalf, I would like to cordially invite you all to the Opening Kickoff and Reception for the Henley for Congress Campaign, on Sunday, December 4th, 4-6 PM at El Meson Restaurant, 2425 University Blvd.  Mr. Henley's sister, Susan McDougal, will be a special guest at the reception.

~Thank you,
Michael Hurta
