Write your Senators and Representatives today!

Let's keep up the pressure to get America out of
Iraq!  Write your Senators, Congressmen/women and Representatives
today!  If your elected leader supports the withdrawal, send them a letter
thanking them and encouraging them in their pursuit to end the war.

This is what I sent to my elected representatives
this morning!

It is well past time to begin troop withdrawal from Iraq.  The
White House and Republicans reasons for "staying the course" are not valid in
the least.

The United States cannot stabilize Iraq with its illegal invasion and
subsequent occupation.  Our presence has made Iraq a breeding ground for
terrorists and the world less safe for Americans.  We have destabilized
this country and made it worse -- not better, than it was before our presence
there.  The entire infrastructure that was in place before our invasion has
been devastated.

The money being spent on this occupation would be better spent at home
in the United States, benefiting the American people.  There are still
thousands homeless in the wake of the devastating hurricanes that struck our
country earlier this year.  There are starving children.  FEMA is a
shadow of its former self, in part because funding for FEMA has been funneled to
the war.  That money needs to be spent here, not in some foreign country
where we are not wanted.

We have done all we can do in Iraq.  Saddam needed to be removed
from power, and this has been done.  Our continued presence in this country
is now needless and only benefits American corporations who are profiting from
war and from the needless deaths of thousands upon thousands of innocent Iraqi
civilians.

The Iraqis don't want us there any longer. Just this week the political
factions in Iraq called for a timetable of withdrawal of foreign forces from
their country.  We must listen to them.  They are in the process of
rebuilding their country and putting their government into place and we must
honor their request.

Our continued presence in Iraq can no longer be justified in any way,
shape or form.  In the past six days 28 American sons and daughters have
died and 363 Iraqis died.  How much more blood needs to be spilled in this
country before the final hold outs (like you) in this country say enough is
enough?

Sincerely,
Amy Branham
