Candidate Questionnaires

Members of the Progressive Action Alliance (PAA), the Progressive Populist Caucus (PPC) of the Texas Democratic Party, Houston chapter of Veterans for Peace, Oil Patch Democrats, Helping Democrats Get Elected (HDGE), and Democracy for Houston (DFH) developed questionnaires based on some of the issues that are of great interest to us.  We sent them to candidates in the Houston/southeast Texas area who are in contested races in the 2006 Democratic primary.  We plan to send the questionnaires to other candidates after the primary.

One questionnaire, based on national issues, was developed for Congressional candidates.  Another questionnaire was developed for state candidates.  Some of the same questions (such as verifiable voting) appear on both.

This will allow you to compare their responses on these critical issues. No editing of the responses has been done -- the responses are given just as the candidates provide them to us, with no corrections for grammar or spelling.
