Mayor Bill White will be the Chief Guest. Keynote Speaker will be HISD Superintendent Dr. Abelardo Saavedra. Quaker Peace Festival "Living in Peace"

Event Description:

The Quaker Peace Festival "Living in Peace" is November 10th. It is an all day event, lasting until sundown. The day will start with a walking meditation and a brief presentation "Goldwater Conservative to War Abolitionist" from Edward O'Rouke. There will be kids games and activities, live music (rock, folk, world beat/reggae, and hip-hop). We are inviting many organizations, groups and vendors who work to improve and educate the community and show how peace can be incorporated into our lives. We will have a dance performance by Revolve Dance Company. Then we will end the day with a break dance competition inside under the skyspace.
