Don't let Bush pardon this turkey

Hi,

Every Thanksgiving the president pardons a turkey. But this year George Bush may try to use the holiday to slip in another pardon -- of his friend and former senior aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who was indicted for perjury, obstruction of justice and making false statements.

Conservatives around Washington are buzzing with rumors that George Bush will regain control of his lame-duck presidency by ending the investigation into manipulated intelligence on Iraq and the subsequent cover-up with a pardons for anyone involved.

Show that you are watching -- don't let George Bush pardon this turkey over the Thanksgiving holiday:

Well after making up a few words and getting away with it he got brave and started making up some new laws and new ways of looking at things. New definitions and new rules, the way this administration plays I'd say they are in a make or break mentality as far as achieving their goals. It is not out of the question but I think it is very unlikely because they can probably fire the special prosecutor easier or just downplay it in the media until they announce some sort of a plea bargain.
They assassinated Kennedy and got away with that. Started the Vietnam war under false pretenses, just revealed in a historical report by NSA, buried in the paper and that's no big deal. No heads are rolling. They must be slipping, but not really. Look at 911. What about that one? Never even a criminal investigation. Videos proving conclusively that the towers were brought down with planted demolitions. Still, the american public stands, for the most part, seemingly hypnotized. ' you do not see that discrepancy over there. We would never kill our own citizens.'
Then there is the historically documented cases of the government conducting experiments on African americans,. soldiers and others. These exp.'s were not legal and that has been admitted by the gov. today. There is no one left alive who is responsible for it. That was buried in the paper too. The point is that we already have proof that our government will kill it's own citizens inorder to get what they want. In other words, it's OK if it doesn't make sense as long as the media can sell it, it'll work.

I know I'm a newbie at all this political stuff, but can someone explain how
the President can pardon someone who hasn't been charged and/or officially
accused of anything? Not that I wouldn't put it past him, mind you. Just
curious how this works.

Thanks!
