STATEWIDE DEMOCRATS WILL GATHER IN GALVESTON
ON JAN. 7, 2006.

On Saturday evening, January 7, 2006, the Galveston County Democratic Party
will host a banquet titled ≥Turn Texas Blue.≤ The event will be held at the
Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center, 7 Hope Blvd, Galveston,
beginning with a social hour at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner, and the
program at 7:00 p.m.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean will open the program
with a video message. Other speakers include Leo Gerard, General President
of the United Steelworkers Union, Texas author and humorist Jim Hightower,
Texas Democratic Party Chairman Charles Soechting, Texas AFL-CIO President
Emmett Sheppard, and Congressional candidates Nick Lampson and Shane Sklar.
John Patrick, the DNC. member from our area, will serve as Master of
Ceremonies.

This will be a big Texas event! Participants include The Texas Democratic
Executive Committee, the Texas AFL-CIO, and others throughout the state who
share a common interest in electing Democrats, and defeating Tom DeLay and
Ron Paul. ≥DeLayπs defeat will be our gift to America!≤ said Galveston
County Democratic Chairman Lloyd Criss. On Saturday during the day, the
State Democratic Executive Committee will hold meetings. At noon there will
be a rally featuring statewide Democratic candidates.

The rally is free. The banquet is $50 per seat and will feature an Italian
buffet. All funds raised by the banquet will benefit ≥Getting out the
Democratic Vote.≤

All Democrats and interested independents are invited to attend.
Participation will benefit a great cause for Texas and the nation.
