Fwd: Diane Wilson: 23rd visit update
See below for an update from Katie on how Diane Wilson is doing in the Victoria jail, since she was arrested at the Cheney/DeLay fundraiser in Houston.
Read more about Diane's protest and arrest, along with an image of the cape with the message she unfurled at the fundraiser (and which prompted her arrest) at http://codepinkalert.org/article.php?list=type&type=98 .
Note that she's still in prison, not because of what she did at the Cheney/DeLay fundraiser, but because of a previous conviction for an action at a Dow Chemical plant to protest the company's connection to the Bhopal chemical disaster.

Stay tuned on an upcoming fundraiser for both Diane Wilson and for Scott Parkin (who was deported from Australia back to the US a few months ago, after he helped nonviolent activists there who wanted to protest Halliburton).

>Dear all,

>I finally got to visit Diane in Victoria jail on Fri the 23rd. I was accompanied by Ann Wright, former deputy ambassador to Mongolia, who resigned in protest to the war in Iraq. Ann and Diane were brought together by their recent organising efforts at Camp Casey in Crawford, TX.

>Fortunately, Diane had phoned me the previous day and even though it was barely a three minute conversation, we managed to catch up enough to be able to make some progress during the visit. In the 45 mts allotted to us, we discussed the events leading up to her transfer to Victoria, her current condition, her plans, can & can
