A Letter to the Editor
The following letter appeared in today's Galveston County Daily News.
I think it is one of the better ones I've ever read that treats Bush just as
he ought to be treated. What do you think?
Happy New Year everyone!

Bush Doesnπt Come Close
Does anyone bother to remember the British War memo that was in the news
around May and then never spoken about again?
I couldnπt fathom why it was not talked about as much as the other war
topics.
George Bush has shown that he cannot exercise restraint, good judgment or
patience. There was little restraint from the moment after Afghanistanπs
invasion was complete to the day troops began massing in Saudi Arabia.
There was no credible intelligence regarding Iraqπs Weapons of Mass
Destruction programs.
Good judgment would have dictated that you either confirm and mount up or
negate and stand-down. Given that Iraq was complying, patience would have
been prudent so United Nations inspectors could do their job.
Youπve got a proud straight-C student at the seat of political, military and
financial power of our nation, and the West, and that doesnπt bother you?
I donπt want an everyday man as the leader of my country or any other
country for that matter. A non-sophisticate underachiever, who gets by on
luck and charm (and well-heeled backers that keep score) just doesnπt a good
leader or statesman make.
Iπm sorry, I want to see someone that has conviction, integrity, wits and
ability to govern, and Bush just doesnπt come close to meeting muster in any
of those categories.
