100 North Texas cities to split $80 million in line-charge agreement

TXU Corp. agreed Wednesday to keep prices for using its power lines
unchanged.
TXU Electric Delivery Co. struck a deal with more than 100 North Texas
cities, including Dallas and Fort Worth, to postpone until 2008 asking
state regulators to adjust the power line rates.
In exchange, TXU Electric Delivery will pay the cities $80 million
during the next two
years.
That amount includes the cost for TXU to extend the offer to cities that
didn't take part in negotiations.
