Flyer for 2006 MLK parade - Bush vs MLK, Impeachment
If you want to download the flyer we distributed at Monday's Martin
Luther King, Jr. parade in Houston, you can find it on the PAA's web
site, in the Impeach downloads section, at
http://www.paa-tx.org/?q=node/1244
You are welcome to download it, print it, and distribute it
elsewhere. Forward this e-mail to others who may be interested so
they can find it, too.
It contrasts King's ideas with Bush's policies -- on peace,
diplomacy, nonviolence, racial equality, the environment, and civil
liberties.
It explains how 3 more years of Bush in the White House will shatter
King's dream of a just society, and why we should push for
impeachment.
It also lists names and phone numbers of US representatives for the
Houston area, and the e-mail address for letters to the editor for
the Houston Chronicle.
It also has links to web sites with more information on impeachment,
the Iraq war, MLK and nonviolence.
The flyer was eagerly accepted and read by many parade spectators. I
personally saw many of them reading the flyer before the parade
started. I think we should view parades as an opportunity we
shouldn't miss, to reach crowds that often don't come to protests or
other events we organize.
Thanks to Ivan Espinosa and Cheryl Crosier for producing this fine
flyer, and to those of you who helped distribute it to the crowd at
the parade. We passed out all 2500 copies that we had printed, but
please feel free to print more copies yourself to give to others.
