Precinct Development Workshop Sat. Oct. 1, 12:30PM

If you've never been to a precinct development workshop (or even if
you have, like me), but would like to learn more about organizing
your precinct to help progressives get elected, I encourage you to
attend this workshop.

It's Saturday afternoon at the HCDP headquarters, on the N. Loop just
east of Ella.

It's primarily oriented towards helping progressive Democrats get
organized. We made major strides last year in electing progressives
across the state to the State Democratic Executive Committee and to
the various Texas Dem. party state committees (Resolutions, Rules,
Platform, etc.), but there is more to be done. Electing more of the
right people to change the direction of the party will be easier in
2006, because it's not a presidential election year and fewer people
vote. So the ones who do vote (us) can make a bigger difference, if
we learn how to be organized. That's what this workshop is for.

Remember that the Texas primary is only a few months away, and you
can't wait until then to start organizing your precinct. It only
takes one person in a precinct to get things going, and this workshop
will tell you how to get started and how to identify others in your
neighborhood who can help you. Even if you are not a precinct chair,
I hope you can come.
