Dear Friends -

Here is a sad announcement I
received.

Peace & solidarity

Dear Comrades and Friends,

The tragic moment has been reached of the
two
thousandth US troop death in Iraq. United for Peace
and Justice (UFPJ)
has called for emergency actions
TOMORROW to protest this sad milestone. We
urge clubs
and members to join with peace groups in their area to
help
organize actions. Many Party activists have
already been involved with
organizing peace
activities, but we encourage clubs to call and
email
their members and contacts to participate in these
emergency
actions.

Please check the UFPJ web page for actions in
your
area.

TOMORROW'S
actions around the country are being
organized to voice
the growing
opposition and continue the pressure on
Bush and the Congress to bring the
troops home now.
The human costs of countless Iraqis dying  along
side
of tens of thousands of wounded, both US and Iraqis,
can only be
ended with a stronger and continued
pressure from the grassroots!

The
Party and Young Communist League have made ending
the illegal war in Iraq a
political priority. We have
an important role to play in
mobilizing
grassroots participation in the peace
movement. For some
clubs this may
be one of the first activities we are
try to involve our
members and
contacts.

Please take a look at the Party's web page
http://www.cpusa.org/ and the People's Weekly
World
web page http://www.pww.org/ to see
the documents from
our convention and articles about our Party's
analysis
and involvement in the struggle to end the war in
Iraq.

If
actions are not listed, clubs should consider
organizing a  picket

at a Federal Building or Congressional office or a
neighborhood vigil in
a shopping area. Make calls to
local media for coverage and please post the
event on
the UFPJ web page http://www.unitedforpeace.org/

Even very small vigils and pickets can keep the peace
dialogue going
in our neighborhoods.
