3 Years in Iraq
CANDLELIGHT VIGIL FOR PEACE
March 21 Dunlavy Bridge 6:30P
This week begins the fourth year of the criminal war and occupation of Iraq. The consequences have been enormous. Deaths for U.S. service people now number 2,311. Officially, over 17,000 more U.S. service people have been reported wounded — unofficial estimates are between 18,000 to 48,000 wounded. The number of Iraqi civilian deaths are reported at over 33,000 with an average of 36 people per day. An additional $92 billion dollars of more U.S. taxpayer money is slated to pass approval this week for a new total of $400 billion dollars being spent, there is no end in sight. The Senate has now permitted the national debt to grow to $9 trillion. And the war has brought new assaults on civil liberties and democratic rights.

Immigrant Issues: A Fighting Back! Workshop
This is the first in a series of issues forums planned for this election year. All candidates and Democratic activists are invited to attend. It is evident from the early tactics being used by the Repubs that beating up on immigrants is to be a theme of this election cycle. We have to be ready to talk back on this difficult issue. On April 8th we will host a workshop on framing the Immigration message to get ready for them.
The purpose of this workshop is to develop a common value frame about immigration. It is NOT about creating the 5 robotic talking points. Please attend . Hopefully you will be informed and empowered to spread the good word that Democratic values can effectively address this thorny problem.
Registration: 12:30 - 1:00 pm
Sessions: 1:00 - 4:00 pm
