Resolutions to promote our issues; why they're important now
At our PAA meeting Thurs. night, we discussed using the resolutions
we wrote two years ago, along with some new ones, to educate voters,
to get them to their party conventions, and to help identify
candidates we want to support.
I wrote more details on the reasons why I think this is so important
to what we're doing, why we need to get started very soon, and how we
might get this done, and put it on the PAA web site at:
http://www.paa-tx.org/node/1014
I also uploaded a revised version of the resolution-writing
guidelines we used two years ago.
For those of you who are new to our group, I want you to know that we
were much more successful than most of us ever thought we would be
with our resolutions. In fact, they (and our group's commitment to
them) are the main reason our group continued to grow even after
Kerry had the Dem. presidential nomination sewed up, and why we
became the Progressive Action Alliance. They represent the main
issues we care about, and I believe they are a very powerful tool in
organizing for the Mar. 2006 primaries.
Read what I posted at http://www.paa-tx.org/node/1014 and let us know
what you think.

promote our issues; why they're important now
adequate pay and healthcare are very important. In fact, if the old
adage "people vote their pocketbooks" is true, our emphasis should probably be
on economic issues. We should be selective and pick those issues that
really hit home and have the broadest appeal.
