Currently, there is a musical titled WICKED which is touring the country.
It recently played Houston. It's a Broadway show. It is supposed to be
the ugly underside of Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz. Obviously the author
of WICKED saw this underside and its parallels with the present
administration The musical is based on the novel which I saw recently on
the shelf at Barnes & Noble.

Pat, this is really good. I don't have time to look at Daily Kos
regularly, but this is certainly work it. For those of you who
haven't seen it, be sure to take a look. There were some things in
the Wizard of Oz I didn't quite understand, or perhaps I missed some
of the dialog or words in the songs, but now I get it with this
special edition of the pictures & song lyrics.
Before I saw this, I didn't realize that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield,
Rove, Rice, etc. were all in the Wizard of Oz. But now I see the
movie in an entirely different light.
